Thai Travellers Show Interest in Local Islands
Encouraging Signs for 2021
According to Thailand’s 2021 Travel Trends Report by Expedia, Thais are showing growing interest to travel to local islands as well as nearby Asian destinations; this was highlighted by TTG Asia in an online article published in November 2020. The report analysed the trends in local travel last year and offered insights on what’s to be expected in 2021. Amongst the top-searched destinations for this year were local islands such as Phuket, Koh Lipe and Koh Samui; resort options found here including properties like Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort offer guests an ideal and safe coastal getaway.
Additionally, the report found that other coastal areas in Thailand the likes of Pattaya, Krabi, Pang Nga and Hua Hin were also popular along with easy to reach close by cities in Asia; these included South Korea, Taipei and Singapore as well as Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo and Hokkaido all in Japan.
