Research states that the cost for a family to fly to Thailand is much cheaper than them having to fly to Kashmir. A four star hotel in Thailand is found to be less costly than a three star hotel in Kashmir. This has been the main reason for majority of Indians to celebrate their weddings in Thailand. With more than 300 Indian weddings held in 2015, Thailand’s Tourist Authority has taken steps towards offering special discounts for this cause. Main locations are in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket. Wedding venues such as the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort or any other resort, spas, houses and hotels that float on water, offer wedding packages that include Indian cultural shows, traditional food and vehicle rides. Even away from India one can still feel at home as they celebrate the biggest day of their lives.
