Thailand Attracts More Tourists Than Vietnam – Thailand Sees Arrivals Increase Too

As highlighted on the VnExpress International news website in February this year, Thailand has been attracting more tourists than Vietnam since reopening its borders. Many reasons were given for this including the fact that Thailand has a friendly visa policy and has been developing its tourism industry; other factors such as the diverse night markets and shopping centres and convenient public transport system have also led to more travellers heading here. Thus, it is little surprise that Thailand is looking to welcome 30 million foreign travellers this year as compared to Vietnam which is targeting 8 million tourists in 2023.

It should be noted that Thailand has already seen a significant increase in arrivals this year; as reported on the Bangkok Post news website on 20th May 2023, the country recorded 9.47 million travellers from January to mid-May this year, helping to generate approximately US$11 billion. At the time, the top source market for tourism was Malaysia, followed by China and India respectively. Such travellers have much to look forward to as well be it staying in a city hotel or beachside resort; Hua Hin continues to be a popular coastal destination for such getaways at properties like Avani+ Hua Hin Resort which offer safe stays too.
