Thailand Baht regaining 2.3% due to influx of tourists

The Thai baht has recovered so quickly in recent weeks in hopes for the nation’s tourism-driven economy that it has already surpassed year-end analyst projections. This month, the currency increased 2.3% to approximately 35.45 per dollar, much-outpacing advances in Asia. The increase is being fuelled by higher estimates for tourist arrivals as well as a decreasing current-account deficit because of declining oil prices.

Given that the travel industry made up approximately a fifth of Thailand’s economy before the pandemic, the country needs this recovery. Many Bangkok city hotels are preparing to attract even more guests over time, hosting various events and offering attractive discounts.
