Thailand Beach Destinations Draw More Tourists – Entry Requirements Made Easier

Earlier this year, Thailand reopened its borders providing quarantine-free holidays to fully vaccinated tourists along with access to popular beach destinations like Phuket and Koh Samui under its Sandbox scheme. Subsequently, the nation has been easing its entry requirements, making it easier for travellers to come back and enjoy coastal getaways here once more.

For example, from 1st May 2022, all travellers regardless of their vaccination status no longer had to show proof of a negative result of a COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken before arrival; they didn’t have to submit to an on-arrival test any longer either. However, those not vaccinated or partially vaccinated did have to quarantine for five days and submit to an RT-PCR test on day five. For accommodation, tourists can stay at an SHA Extra+ certified resort; Koh Samui features such properties including Avani+ Samui Resort which has enhanced hygiene and sanitisation protocols while giving guests the chance to enjoy the best the island has to offer.
