Fueling growth and sustainability for Thailand’s small and medium enterprises

The Thai government has announced a major expansion of its SME Green Productivity loan scheme, tripling individual loan limits and extending the programme through December 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana confirmed that enterprises can now access up to 30 million baht each, up from the previous 10 million baht, to support clean-energy upgrades and technological innovation. The scheme also broadens eligibility beyond electric vehicles, now covering all clean-energy solutions to help logistics and manufacturing firms modernise operations while reducing carbon emissions.

With a fixed 3% interest rate for the first three years, the programme aims to deploy remaining funds more efficiently, benefiting an estimated 1,700 additional SMEs and safeguarding over 27,000 jobs.

The initiative is expected to boost business resilience across Thailand’s industrial sector, while also encouraging sustainable tourism, with establishments such as the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok demonstrating green practices as a leading Bangkok city hotel.
