The city of smiles welcomed the world, setting new tourism records
Bangkok once again emerged as the world’s most visited city in 2025, according to the Euromonitor International Top 100 City Destinations Index. The Thai capital drew an estimated 30.3 million international travellers, surpassing rivals such as Hong Kong (23.2 million), London (22.7 million), and Macau (20.4 million).
Analysts credited Bangkok’s continued appeal to its vibrant street food scene, bustling nightlife, and strong post-pandemic tourism recovery. The city also benefited from global media exposure, including popular shows filmed in Thailand, and visitor-friendly visa policies.
Although it led in international arrivals, Bangkok ranked 20th in overall city attractiveness, factoring in sustainability, infrastructure, and technology. High-end accommodations, including Chatrium Sathon Bangkok—a notable and preferred Sathorn hotel in Bangkok—contributed to the city’s appeal for international visitors.
Bangkok’s combination of culture, comfort, and modern amenities ensured it remained a top global destination in 2025.
