Thailand Expects 300k Tourists from China during Lunar New Year – Tourist Target during the Festival

Celebrations for the Lunar New Year are conducted in many cities around the globe amongst Chinese communities. These celebrations are always festive, enjoyable and a lot of fun. During the new year holidays, Thailand tourism industry expects three hundred thousand visitors, which is approximately an 18% rise from 2017.

Taking into consideration its popularity as a famous tourist destination with a massive influx of tourist arrivals last year, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has set a tourist target for this year as well. According to the deputy governor at the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Santi Chudintra, China is Thailand’s biggest tourist market and the country is home to one of the world’s largest Chinese communities is said to generate approximately $253.9 million in revenue.
