Thailand Introduces Relaxed COVID-19 Restrictions for Foreign Arrivals

The month of May marked yet another benchmark in relieving COVID-19-related restrictions for Thailand. The news of relaxed COVID-19 regulations for international visitors was a major relief point to Bangkok city hotels, resorts and other lodgings like Avani Atrium Bangkok. As reported in the Asian edition of Bloomberg on the 8^th of April 2022, the decision to scrap off RT-PCR tests on arrival and replace them with antigen tests was made on the same day, following a meeting held at the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration.

Aiming for economic revival, this decision was made after many countries like Australia and Singapore eased their travel bans. While the world is gradually normalising COVID-19, Thailand too joined forces by removing the mandatory polymerase chain reaction test for foreigners with effect from May 2022.
