Thailand and Kazakhstan inked a visa-free agreement in April 2024, fostering tourism opportunities for both countries. Citizens can now enjoy visa-free travel for up to 30 days per visit, with a cumulative total of 90 days allowed within six months. Thailand had already experienced a surge in Kazakhstani tourists following the implementation of a temporary visa waiver programme, initiated in September last year and extended until August 2024. This new move is expected to boost tourist arrivals to Thailand further.
Thailand’s recent visa-free policies, including those for China, have already led to a significant rise in foreign visitors. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the number of Chinese tourists surged by over 40% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
Thailand’s allure remains strong, continuing to draw travellers looking to enjoy getaways full of coastal bliss, island adventures, cultural experiences and fun activities at destinations like Phang Nga. Hotels located in this picturesque province bordering the Andaman Sea such as Avani+ Khao Lak Resort provide the ideal base for holidays, especially with the convenience of visa-free entry on offer for many nationalities.
