In a bid to boost its tourism industry further, Thailand made key changes to its visa policy this year. From 15th July 2024, it began offering visa-free entry to citizens from 93 nations around the world. Initially, such travellers could enjoy stays for up to 60 days; however, adding to the joy of tourists was that from August 2024, they could extend their stay for a further 30 days as well.
To facilitate easy entry into the country, Thailand had also originally planned to launch an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system later this year. While it has been postponed for the moment, travellers can still enjoy hassle-free arrivals with no new travel requirements. Such measures are paving the way for an influx of tourists who are enjoying the diverse range of experiences this nation has to offer. These include the rewarding things to do in Chiang Rai, in the northern part of the country. At properties here like Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, guests can look forward to ethical elephant encounters, longtail boat trips to the Mekong River, visits to ancient temples and more.
