Thailand’s tourism industry has shown a significant improvement with a steady recovery in 2023, and the Bank of Thailand says the economic growth can be 3.6% overall for the year. The tourism sector is the driving force behind the country’s economy, and the economy took a massive hit when the pandemic restricted international travellers from visiting Thailand.
This year, the expected tourist arrivals for Thailand are set for 29 million according to the Bank of Thailand, and 35.3 million for 2024. Most restrictions effective until January 2023 due to the pandemic have been lifted, and Thailand welcomes more tourists who choose accommodations in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai.
