Thailand Tourism Back on Track – 80% of Pre-Pandemic Tourism Revenue Expected in 2023

The tourism industry in Thailand has enjoyed a boost since the country fully reopened its borders to international travellers and the prospects for 2023 are even better. This was highlighted by the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn while speaking at the 22nd World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit; the event was held in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh from 28th November to 1st December 2022.

Speaking as part of the panel discussing “The Recovery of Travel in Asia and the Pacific”, he went on to say that the country is aiming to reach 80% of pre-pandemic tourism revenue this year; additionally, Thailand will be looking to focus its tourism on aspects like inclusiveness, sustainability and being eco-friendly. Also of note is that the country’s target of reaching 10 million arrivals for 2022 was successfully achieved as well, which bodes well for 2023. Travellers holidaying here have much to choose from including island destinations like Koh Samui; resorts by the beach the likes of Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort continue to provide safe accommodation and the chance to enjoy the country’s best experiences once more.
