A time-honoured tradition that brought faith, wellness, and heritage together across Thailand
Thailand welcomed travellers and locals alike during the Thailand Vegetarian Festival 2025, which took place from 20 to 29 October across multiple provinces. Supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the annual event reflected the country’s Chinese-Thai roots and focused on spiritual cleansing, merit-making, and mindful living.
Throughout the festival, visitors witnessed ceremonial parades, sacred rituals, and community-led observances in destinations including Bangkok’s Yaowarat area, Phuket, Hat Yai, Trang, and other regions. While each location showcased its own customs, the shared emphasis remained on purity, health, and renewal.
The celebrations also highlighted the richness of dining in Thailand, as vegetarian cuisine became a central feature of the festival experience. Many restaurants and food outlets, including establishments such as Guilty Thailand, attracted interest from travellers exploring cultural traditions through food.
