Thailand Welcomes Over 9M Tourists & Counting – Chinese Visitors Hit the 1M Mark

Further evidence that Thailand’s tourism industry is getting back on track, the country has already recorded more than nine million arrivals this year. According to the Thai government, 9.47 million tourists arrived in the country from 1st January to 15th May 2023, generating a total revenue of 391 billion baht. Such visitors can once more experience key local destinations including the capital where they can stay at a Sukhumvit-based residence hotel in Bangkok; this includes properties the likes of PARKROYAL Suites Bangkok which offer safe accommodation for business, sightseeing, shopping, and nightlife.

Part of the reason that arrivals are on the rise is that Chinese tourists are once more visiting Thailand following China’s easing of travel restrictions in February this year. Since then, there has been a steady increase of visitors from China and this number reached one million on 18th May 2023 with the figure expected to hit five million or more by year’s end. This will be a significant factor for the country to achieve its target of 25 million international tourists in 2023.
