Thailand’s Tourism Sector Remains Hopeful of Recovery

Following two years of challenges that occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand has expressed their confidence in recovery. The government officials of the country have made such remarks due to the increase of foreign travellers flocking into the country, staying over at lodgings such as the Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel. Tourists no longer need to rethink their decision to reserve a room at a hotel in Bangkok, Sukhumvit as the country has dropped the requirement of a negative PCR for entry for international travellers.

As reported in The Diplomat on the 20th of September 2022, the government of Thailand forecasts a total revenue of 2.83 trillion baht in the next year. The country is hopeful that tourism will turn a new leaf in its growth, so that it may reach at least 80% of the arrivals that the country was fortunate to welcome in 2019.
