The 18th Asian Games in Jakarta Indonesia

The 18th Asian Games which happened in Jakarta Indonesia was concluded on the 2nd of September with an awe inspiring closing ceremony. The Asian games of this year which is also known as XVIII Asiad, was the largest sporting event conducted in the region governed by the Olympic Council of Asia. The games ceremoniously began on the 18th of august and extended for 15 days. A total of 465 events in over 40 disciplines and sports were features in these games. A total of 1,552 medals were awarded to athletes and China was ranked as the first obtaining 132 gold medals, 92 silver medals and 65 bronze. Japan became the second and South Korea the third. Overall the event has brought in hidden talents of numerous athletes to the world stage. It has also been said that this year’s event had a high number of spectators as the event took place during the summer season and during the time hotels the likes of Alila Solo which is a resort hotel in Solo Indonesia along with many others were full.
