The city of Qalhat entered to the UNESCO’s World Heritage List – A hidden gem in the Sultanate of Oman

Oman’s fascinating ancient city, Qalhat was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list during the World Heritage Committee meeting 2018 which was held in Bahrain. The history of this city dates back to many centuries back to the pre-Islamic times. Once, Qalhat remained as an important trade hub for Chinese porcelain and even Arabian horses. Located on the east coast of the Sultanate of Oman is the historic city of Qalhat with long stretches of ramparts where necropolises are located.
