The Emirates International Date Palm Festival

The Emirates International Date Palm Festival took place this year from the 24th to the 29th of November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Dates have been a revered delicacy of the Middle East for thousands of years. So if you are staying at Abu Dhabi Villassuch as the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort, Abu Dhabi , the event is a must attend as you will be able to gain a thorough knowledge of this fruit while filling your taste buds with some sweet treats as the same time. This year the festival was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and featured many social, cultural and artistic activities such as an educational maze, date tasting, traditional theatre and kitchen and even a palm tree climbing competition!
