The 9th of December 2018 marked the opening of the inaugural Kannur-Abu Dhabi route opening up both destinations and offering greater convenience for passengers. Flights from Abu Dhabi to Kannur and from Kannur to Abu Dhabi took place on this day amidst festivities including celebrations and cultural performances at the Kannur International Airport.
The opening up of this route will no doubt have a benefit for both destinations. Passengers flying out of Kannur can now easily access the Middle East choosing from a wealth of experiences; also on offer are diverse accommodation options including Abu Dhabi luxury resorts the likes of Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara and a range of city hotels. The airport at Kannur is Kerala’s fourth international airport and it will also provide connections to Qatar and Oman.
