The First Tourist of 2023 Welcomed in the Maldives

Another Year of Milestones Ahead

What is expected to be another remarkable year of tourism in the Maldives was kick-started on the 1st of January 2023, with the arrival of the first tourist to the country. The Russian national, Nikolai Stratichuk, was warmly welcomed with a special ceremony attended by Thoyyib Mohamed, the CEO and Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation; Mr. Mohamed commented on the success the country had in the past year including winning numerous accolades and hoped to continue this trend in 2023.

Tourists the world over keep choosing this destination for holidays enjoying stays at private island Maldives resorts; honeymoon getaways and family fun can be experienced at such properties including Adaaran Select Meedhupparu which will be looking to draw more guests this year. Having reached its goal of recording 1.6 million tourists for 2022, the Maldives has set this year’s target as 1.8 million arrivals and with the country’s popularity, this figure seems more than achievable.
