The Land of Frankincense Sites in Oman Continue to Draw Many Visitors

The Land of Frankincense sites in Oman, collectively designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been continuing to attract many visitors this year; this was put into the spotlight on the Times of Oman news website on 22nd May 2022. According to Dhofar’s Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism, over 2,000 visitors were recorded at these sites in April 2022. Also, of note is that in the first quarter of this year, the Land of Frankincense Sites drew 17,155 visitors when compared to 16,679 for the same period last year.

Amongst these sites are the popular Al Baleed Archaeological Park and the Museum of the Land of Frankincense located next to Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara; those based at such properties can easily explore this area as well as make use of onsite Salalah meeting venues. Other Land of Frankincense sites that have been drawing visitors this year include the Wbar and Samahram Archaeological Sites.
