Notably, India continues to remain the top source market for the Maldives as well; in September this year, according to statistics revealed by the Ministry of Tourism, Indians made up 22.9% of the total arrivals to the country. At the time, Russia took second place contributing 19.8% of arrivals followed by Germany (6.1%), the United States (4.1%) and Saudi Arabia (3.5%).
