The Maldives On Track to Reach 1. 3 million Tourist Arrivals For 2021 – An Epic Turnaround

Despite the challenges faced by the Maldives in the wake of the pandemic, the reopening of its borders has resulted in an upward spike in the number of incoming tourists to the archipelagic nation. Since tourism is the backbone of the Maldivian economy, the resurgence of excited and hopeful travellers has been a welcome change amongst the Maldives luxury resorts which were unusually deserted during the initial stage of this pandemic.

Based on the data released by the Tourism Ministry a staggering 905,000 tourists have visited the islands so far! These numbers reflect significant growth in the influx of tourists in comparison to last year. Resorts such as Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences are doing their part by adhering to the strictest safety standards to ensure that the Maldives is on track to welcome at least 1. 3 million tourists by the end of the year!
