The Maldives made its presence felt at this year’s Asian Tourism Fair held in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka from 19th to 21st September 2024. The delegation from the Maldives highlighted the nation’s leisure options as well as affordable luxury travel on offer especially to the fast-growing tourism market of Bangladesh. This was the first time that the country had participated in the Asian Tourism Fair and showed its commitment to drawing travellers from other markets in Asia including Nepal, India and Bhutan as well.
The exhibit by the Maldives showcased the country’s unique experiences and stunning natural beauty including its mesmerising underwater world. Visitors also had the chance to try local cuisine and enjoy various activities that added to the appeal of this enchanting nation. Of course, it should also be mentioned that island getaways and the chance to stay at an overwater villa in Maldives are other key allures here. Properties like Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, an adults-only private island resort, continue to offer the ideal romantic escape and can expect more travellers after such destination promotion efforts.
