The Maldives has seen an increasing number of arrivals this year partly due to the addition of new flight connections in keeping with global demand. Malaysia Airlines (in August 2024) and Air Arabia (in October 2024) started offering flights to this tropical nation from Kuala Lumpa and Sharjah respectively. Azerbaijan Airlines also launched a new service from Baku to the Maldives this November, while Air France will be flying here as well from 20th December 2024 to 5th January 2025 as part of its winter schedule.
With this influx in flights, there has been a surge in arrivals, further boosting the country’s tourism industry. By 20th October this year, it had already recorded 1,598,345 visitors and is well on track to achieve its year-end goal of welcoming two million tourists. For these travellers heading to the Maldives, water villa options at a private island resort remain a popular choice; with the holiday season in full swing, such properties as Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas can no doubt expect more guests arriving from around the world in the weeks to come.
