Azerbaijan Airlines Commences Flights to the Maldives – Twice-weekly Service from Baku Begins

Providing a boost to tourism in the Maldives, the country welcomed Azerbaijan Airlines which began a new flight connection to this popular holiday destination from 8th November 2024. These twice-weekly, non-stop flights provide a convenient connection from Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, to the Velana International Airport in Malé, the Maldivian capital. Passengers can look forward to a comfy ride on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on their way to Malé every Friday or Sunday.

These direct flights offer a hassle-free connection and help to save time since there are no layovers. What’s more, since Azerbaijan Airlines is linked to several Russian destinations, it provides ideal options for travellers from Russia as well. For such tourists heading to the Maldives, villas on private islands offer the ideal escape for family fun, adventure or romance. Properties here like Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort continue to be a popular choice and will no doubt benefit from the added arrivals due to this new flight connection.
