In December last year, an initiative was launched whereby the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation partnered with TripAdvisor to run an online campaign for a six-month period. As part of this initiative, the Maldives was designated a digital TripAdvisor profile; during this campaign, the country will be promoted as a key destination for tourists from countries such as China, the UK, Saudi Arabia and Russia.
A globally popular travel and hotel review site, TripAdvisor continues to be a valuable source of information; this includes for travellers in search of advice on where to stay in Maldives as well as reviewer ratings on island resorts the likes of Reethi Faru Resort. This new campaign is one of the many initiatives of the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation as it looks to take advantage of online and digital platforms to attract more tourists in 2020.
