The Maldives Placed on Italy’s Green List – A Boost for Tourism & Travellers

On 22nd September this year, the Maldives received a welcome boost to tourism as the country was moved from Italy’s Red List and to its Green List; what this means is that travellers from Italy no longer must undergo a 10-day quarantine once they arrive from the Maldives. Subsequently, Neos, an Italian airline, resumed direct flights to this Indian Ocean nation in October 2021 via routes that offered connections from Rome and Milan.

Further positive news also came this September when the UK removed the Maldives from its Red List as well, making it easier for tourists to visit this popular holiday destination. It remains one of the few countries that have fully reopened its international borders for travellers who can stay at some of the best resorts in Maldives; these properties located on private islands include Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives, which offer diverse experiences along with safe stays too.
