As highlighted on the TTG Media website last month, the Maldives has been promoting itself as an ideal destination for incentive travel as well as meetings. As part of this promotion push, Maldivian suppliers who were attending the WTM London (1st to 3rd November 2021) met with buyers from the UK’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market. The Maldivian tourist board also launched a video that showcased the diverse locations that corporate gatherings and meetings could take place.
Speaking to TTG Media, the CEO of Visit Maldives, Thoyyib Mohamed, pointed out that the country has unique options for meetings including more informal settings for concepts like a “boardroom on the beach”. It will be hoped that more corporate event planners will join tourists as they search for how to go to the Maldives and enjoy the best it has to offer. Private island resorts like SAii Lagoon Maldives continue to offer safe accommodation along with beach and indoor venues, professional event organizers, recreation, entertainment, and dining options for business and leisure functions.
