The Maldives announces its next step in order to better their tourism sector in 2020. Going with a new approach, Marketing & Public Relations Corporation has decided to focus more on niche markets. Tourism will now change direction slightly and focus on the smaller markets like MICE, sports tourism and culture. This group of islands is well-known for its luxury resorts which are quite popular with honeymooners.

Now, with demand on the rise for experiential travel, steps will be taken to open up the doors to allow tourists to get to know the culture of the inhabited islands as well. When it comes to MICE, hotels like Dhigali Maldives are motivated to market their meeting spaces and event spaces. New hotels are encouraged to include event and meeting spaces. Other Maldives attractions other than the beach will be further promoted.
