The Maldives Records 26.9% Rise in 2022 Arrivals

As 2022 ended, the Maldives was celebrating another noteworthy year of tourism yet again. In December last year, the country not only reached its goal of registering 1.6 million tourists for 2022 but also recorded a 26.9% increase in arrivals when compared to 2021. This was highlighted on The Edition news website on 27th December 2022 which further revealed the top source markets for the country as well; India topped the list followed by Russia, the UK, Germany, and Italy respectively which made up the top five.

Having achieved its 2022 arrivals target, the country is looking to do even better this year and plans to welcome 1.8 million tourists in 2023.
