The Maldives has received 147,744 tourists during the period of 1st January to 17th February 2021, and the majority of them were from Russia. Many tourists also have come to the Maldives from countries such as India, France, Germany, the UAE, Ukraine, and the UK. Reports also say that the number of tourists who came to the island destination only from 1st to 10th February was as high as 29,591.
Every Maldives luxury beach resort the likes of Adaaran Club Rannalhi is now open to serve international travellers and they do follow strict health and safety guidelines to prevent Covid-19 risks. The Maldives has also initiated its vaccination program in February where the Government intends to cover the workers who deal in the tourism sector initially to create a safer environment for the industry.
