The Maldives is targeting to welcome two million tourists and achieve 14.5 million nights next year as highlighted on the Avas Online news website on 29th September 2022; it was quoting the country’s Tourism Minister, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, who spoke at the Asian Development Bank’s 55th annual meeting. While arrivals have been on the increase this year, a greater number is expected in 2023 partly because tourists from China are expected to be engaged in global travel once more following the pandemic.
This year, the target was to achieve 1.6 million tourists and stays totalling 13 million nights and the country is well on track to achieve this goal. For such travellers heading to the Maldives, overwater villa options at private resorts such as OZEN LIFE MAADHOO continue to be a popular choice; apart from offering the best this tropical destination has in store, such properties also feature stringent health and hygiene measures in place too.
