The Maldives, the sunny side of life showcased at the largest Travel Fair in Japan – Maldives participates at the Tourism Expo Japan

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation alongside its partners recently participated at the Tourism Expo Japan held in Tokyo from the 20 -23 of September 2018. Headed by the Ambassador of Maldives in Japan, His Excellency Mr Ibrahim Uwaish, the Maldivian delegation also included 11 industry partners who along with the MMPRC officials represented the destination at the fair. Whilst innumerable meetings with industry stakeholders were planned to identify strategies to further improve the market performance, the destination was also showcased with eye-grabbing photography a visual of the tropical paradise. From over water properties such as those at Kandolhu Maldives to the underwater experience via virtual reality, were showcased at the Maldivian kiosk.

Whilst Tourism Expo Japan was the largest travel fair the country held to promote inbound and outbound tourism, the Japanese market itself is among the top markets to the Maldives. Hotel promotion was also a part of this exhibition to encourage more inbound Japanese tourists entering the island nation within 2018.
