The Maldives Updates Entry Requirements – Country Still Open for Tourists

In its efforts to ensure safe travel for all, the Maldives has been assessing the global pandemic situation and has been updating its entry requirements accordingly. For example, from 3rd May 2021, all inbound tourists including those who had received the prescribed dose(s) of the vaccine had to present a negative PCR test for COVID-19; this test had to be taken within 96 hours of departure and shown on arrival. Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, however, travellers are advised to always check the latest entry requirements close to the day of departure in case there are further updates.

This Indian Ocean nation is one of the few destinations in the world that reopened for tourists in 2020 itself and offers quarantine-free entry and accommodation at 5-star hotels in Maldives; such properties including the likes of SAii Lagoon Maldives are located on private islands which is another plus point and helps to ensure safe stays for guests.
