The Maldives Welcome Foreign Travellers from July 1

The Maldives began welcoming foreign travellers into the country from the 1st of July. One of the world’s most popular travel destinations was successfully able to come out of its coronavirus lockdown, thanks to its unique geography and quick reactions. The islands and their isolation from each other meant that most of the inhabited areas managed to completely avoid the virus.

Many a Maldives beach resort hit hard by the pandemic is looking to revitalise as the tourism ministry announced in a statement that it has invited tourists from India, China, South Korea, the Middle East and Sri Lanka to enter the country while adhering to strict health and safety protocols. Hotels the likes of Milaidhoo Island Maldives will be open to all, except for 12 countries that include the UK, Spain and Italy in Europe and the United States.
