The Silver Discoverer: New Cruise Ship to Visit Seychelles – Taking Tourism to New Heights

The new company Silversea publicized news that their first cruise ship, The Silver Discoverer will commence operations corresponding with the Seychelles cruise ship season from October to April. The cruise ship season of 2017/2018 has brought about 41 cruise ship calls. Silversea is famous for their smaller luxury cruise ships catering for those who want to travel enjoying every bit of it.

The CEO of the Tourism Board of Seychelles, Sherin Francis explained that Silversea is a prominent company and its growing existence in the Indian Ocean is bound to benefit the islands. More cruise ships mean that more tourists will be headed their way and every Seychelles beach resort, for example, the luxury hotel AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, will definitely experience an increase in the occupancy rate. The Seychelles Ports Authority Business Development Manager, Vincent Didon says that the new company will boost the Blue Economy concept that is important for islands such as Seychelles.
