The UAE economy gets an injection of Dh167 billion by the travel and tourism sector in 2022 – Staggering Figures

Analytics reveal that in 2022, the travel and tourism sector had a 60.2% growth in relation to the contribution made to the UAE economy, reaching as high as DH167 billion. It is projected to reach DH 180 billion by the end of 2023, marking another impressive milestone for the service industry.

During an Economic Integration Committee meeting headed by the Minister of Economy, a wide basket of economy-related topics was discussed, where the 7.6% growth in the industry was duly noted. The success of the industry can be attributed to the large-scale developments that have taken place in the country over the last few decades to make it a hotspot for tourism. Massive private investments to build a luxury hotel in Dubai such as the Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai have been crucial in the rise of the industry giants in the 21st century.
