The Water Releasing Festival on Tomb Sweeping Day – beginning of the harvest years

The water releasing festival is scheduled to be held on the 5th of April 2015. The event is considered as a holy festival by the locals and is held on the Tomb sweeping day. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the builders of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and as a marking of a new spring ploughing.
