An event that locals and foreign travellers both look forward to, the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is set to bring much floral colour to Seoul. This popular festival coincides with the spring months and the blooming of cherry blossoms; it will take place in early April on Yeouido Island on the Han River within easy reach of Travelodge Dongdaemun. The area which is close to the National Assembly Station can be accessed by those staying at a Dongdaemun hotel and is home to more than 1,800 cherry trees that blossom during this time.
One of the best spots to witness cherry blossoms in Seoul, this site is also where one can observe other flowering flora such as royal azaleas and forsythia. Various art exhibitions and live music performances will be held as well, while another highlight of the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is the chance to see the blossoms lit up at night.
