Tightened Security Measures in Sri Lanka for Travellers – No Decision to Relax COVID Regulations

The Sri Lankan government has taken measures to tighten the security measures pertaining to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. All passengers coming into the country should obtain approval from the relevant authorities in order to enter the country. Also, they must produce the completed Health Declaration form to the staff of the Airport Health Office.

Tourists who have received the recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccination should produce an English translation of the vaccination certificate on arrival, after which they will be transported to a Level One Quarantine hotel. Within the first 24 hours of arrival, a PCR test should be done and if the report arrives negative, they should continue staying at the same hotel until the seventh day is completed. On the seventh day, they should take another PCR test after which they can travel to a hotel in Dambulla or any other property in the country such as Heritance Kandalama once they have obtained clearance from the area MOH.
