Time Out Reveals Islands to Visit for National Day Weekend – Sir Bani Yas Island One of the Highlights

Residents of the UAE are no doubt looking forward to the extended National Day weekend this year. That is because though Commemoration Day falls on 30th November (Thursday), the public and private sectors have been granted a holiday on 1st December, a Friday; this is followed by National Day on 2nd December, while 3rd December has been given as a holiday as well. To take advantage of this long weekend, Time Out Dubai recently revealed (on 6th November 2023) islands in the UAE that one can reach within three hours without having to fly there.

Amongst the highlighted destinations was Sir Bani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It offers a picturesque escape where one can enjoy everything from wildlife encounters to stays at a luxury hotel. Abu Dhabi provides such getaways here at properties like Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara for family fun and romantic retreats. During the holiday, one can enjoy drives at the Arabian Wildlife Park, thrilling water sports, wadi walks, mountain biking, horse riding, spa rituals and even visiting a monastery that dates back to 600 A.D.

There were other destinations featured by Time Out Dubai as well; these included Al Noor Island in Sharjah, Shark Island in Khorfakkan, Al Sinniyah Island off the coast of Umm Al Quwain and Snoopy Island in Fujairah, each with something different to offer.
