Tokyo Metropolitan Government to rename Olympic and Paralympic areas as part of legacy plans – A new strategy

The 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo brought about a major surge of controversy among the locals and organisers. Nonetheless, the event was successful. The Metropolitan Government of Tokyo has now decided to give the areas where the games took place some prominence. Olympic areas are now to be renamed as Olympic & Paralympic Parks. There will be a number of exhibits as well which will include the Olympic cauldron, game symbols and murals of the summer games.

A total of seven Olympic and Paralympic symbols were installed for the 2020 Tokyo Games, they will soon be reinstalled in Mount Takao areas and the waterfront. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has identified many such areas to reinstall these symbols in order to create a legacy and get the maximum benefit out of the games that were held. Tourists staying in hotels near Shibuya Station such as the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel will soon be able to visit these areas for a glimpse of the plaques.
