According to a relatively recent survey by the Post Office of the UK, Japan came in second place in its Travel Safety Index for Solo Travellers. This was highlighted on the popular Time Out website on 20th February 2023 which also went on to reveal some of the key factors which were used in the survey; these included ratings on healthcare standards, crime rate and food hygiene. First place went to the American city of Seattle, while number three on the list was Portland, also in the USA.
While the nation’s capital is an ideal destination to explore for those travelling solo, it should be noted that while here, travellers can also enjoy safe accommodation in Japan. Tokyo apartments can be found which have stringent health and hygiene measures in place for the well-being of guests. These properties include the likes of Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Azabu Tokyo which have modern studios that are well-suited for solo travellers along with features like CCTV and 24-hour security which add to the safety factor.
