The economy of Thailand has showcased a notable recovery despite a general global slowdown; this was highlighted on the Reuters news agency website on 31st January 2023 and it went on to reveal that the increase in tourism was a key factor for improving economic activity. The country exceeded its 2022 arrivals target last year, welcoming 11.15 million tourists last year which provided a significant economic boost. The prospects for this year are even better with China easing travel restrictions and Chinese holidaymakers heading to Thailand once more.
According to an article featured on the Bangkok Post news website on 24th March 2023, the country is looking to register approximately six million tourist arrivals in the first quarter of this year. By the end of 2023, it hopes to have welcomed 25 to 30 million foreign travellers generating around 1.5 trillion baht. Since Thailand reopened its borders, tourists have been eagerly visiting its popular destinations and enjoying safe stays at properties like Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort; travellers based at such well-placed resorts in Krabi can enjoy the best of the country once more be it coastal relaxation, wellness journeys, fun adventures, or foodie discoveries.
