Toronto Welcomes Sri Lanka: A New Frontier for Travel Advisors

On May 31, Prestige Discoveries, the Global Tourism Film Festival, and the World of Travel Expo hosted a “Discover Sri Lanka” showcase at Toronto’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre, with support from the Sri Lanka High Commission. Designed especially for travel advisors and industry professionals, this high-impact event highlighted Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings—from palm-fringed coastlines and misty highlands to ancient cities and wildlife sanctuaries.

A key highlight was the premiere of “Realm of Paradise,” a new documentary by Anna Leonti, which captures the country’s vibrant landscapes and cultural charm. Presentations from Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, SriLankan Airlines, Whittalls Travels, and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts showcased both authenticity and upscale hospitality.

As advisors explored new partnerships and destination products, they could register for a familiarization trip and enter draws for prizes including spa treatments and a vacation for two.
