Tour de Bintan 2022 A Success – Event Draws Cyclists from Around the World

The long-awaited Tour de Bintan 2022 made a successful return this year after being postponed due to the pandemic. The 10th edition of this race took place between the 14th to 16th of October 2022 in the Bintan Regency at locations within easy reach of hotels like The Residence Bintan. It featured over 500 participants from around the world and offered winners the chance to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship making it among the premier events in Bintan for professional cyclists.

The races which started from points like Plaza Lagoi and Simpang Lagoi took riders past some of Bintan’s stunning landscapes including enchanting forests, idyllic coastlines, and charming villages. Tour de Bintan 2022 featured different categories for racers to choose from; these were namely the Grand Fondo Discovery (52 km), Grand Fondo Challenge (82 km), Grand Fondo Century (113 km) and the epic Grand Fondo Classic (138 km). Amongst the key winners was Boon Kiak Yeo from the Singapore National Training Squad who recorded the fastest time of 03:33:45.46 for the Grand Fondo Classic.
