On 1st October 2022, Canada removed its mandatory travel restrictions that were put into effect during the pandemic; now, travelers no longer need to install and use the ArriveCan app or show proof of vaccination, while quarantining and random airport testing have been done away with too. The move was welcomed by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and Air Canada, and it will be hoped that arrival numbers will increase during the holiday season. On their trips, travelers can also look forward to safe accommodation including at a luxury hotel in Toronto; such properties including the likes of Pan Pacific Toronto have stringent health and hygiene protocols in place for worry-free stays.
As stated on the BNN Bloomberg website on 21st October 2022, Canada is looking to attract more American tourists; before the pandemic, Americans made up two-thirds of its total overnight visitors and it’s hoped that the removal of travel restrictions will help to draw visitors from across the border once more. To this end, Canada is also focusing on promoting indigenous tourism, events and festivals, and it’s great outdoors.
