Tour de Bintan, one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic international cycling races, returns from 21–23 August 2026 following a brief hiatus, bringing fresh energy — and a new sanctioning milestone — back to the region’s cycling calendar. First held in 2009, the race has grown into a recognised fixture on the regional cycling scene, combining road racing with destination tourism on Bintan Island. A key update for 2026 is the addition of UCI 1.2 point status, letting riders earn international ranking points and drawing a higher-calibre field.
The event stays accessible too, with categories ranging from a 150km Gran Fondo Classic down to a 45km Discovery route and a 17km time trial. The Bintan Island resort experience is also set to benefit from the event; routes unfold along Bintan’s scenic coastal roads, with locations like The Residence Bintan offering luxurious resort stays for riders looking to wind-down post race.
